The Seaclear aquarium is an awesome addition to any room. This tank is made out of acrylic which is 17x sturdier than glass and lighter too. The corners are seemless and rounded which makes the fish easy to see. Fish are easy to view because the aquarium is crystal clear. This aquarium is good for both salt water and fresh water fish species. The aquarium includes the reflector and electrical 24" light fixture. Pick up a good heater and water filter for this tank and you are ready to go. Pick a nice spot to set up your tank. Not too sunny and not in the way of foot traffic. Once you have the water in the tank, it will be very heavy to move because water weighs about 8 pounds a gallon.
Before you add fish to the tank, set it up and let the aquarium filter and heater run for a few days. Part of the set up, you may want to purchase gravel or substrate or sand for the bottom. If you get gravel, rinse it out first. It's amazing how much dust is in purchased gravel. I like to include a few plastic plants at first to give fish a place to hide when they want privacy.
You are ready to add fish when the water temperature is correct. Research the type of fish you want first to determine what temperature is accurate. Many fish do well at around 78F degrees. If you get your fish from the local fish store, ask for their advice. You usually should only buy a few fish at a time. This is because the water will go through chemical changes after the fish are added.
Maintenance is actually very easy. What I do is, once a week, take about 20% percent of the water out of the tank. Never empty the whole tank. I then top off the tank with fresh water.
